We recommend that everyone brushes their teeth after each meal.

Special toothpaste formulations for kids can be swallowed at no risk. However toothpastes designed for adult use can contain higher doses of fluoride and abrasive agents, which are not really suited to the mouths of children…

If your child is still too young to spit out, we recommend letting them drink a mouthful of water.

At DentistKids, our paediatric dentists do not recommend mouthwashes since they are of little use when used on a daily basis and can have a negative effect on the mouth’s bacterial flora.

In the evening it is especially important that your child does not eat or drink anything other than (neat) water after brushing their teeth!
